sorry if this is a rethread, im new to weight training i want to train for rugby, second row.

what is the best amount of exercises perday. this is what i had in mind

Monday
Chest, shoulders, legs

Thursday
Triceps, back

Saturday
Biceps, legs

this is for pre season training.

For rugby it looks good mate. Thursday go with back first then tri's. Saturday go with legs first the bi's. If your new to the gym and are training for rugby then get yourself a little journal and up the weights every 10-14 days, even if its by a tiny load. Also sort yourself out a good diet, high protien, qualilty carbs etc and you will be well away!

Being your sport is rugby then you need strenth and speed.

I would go for 4 sets of 8 reps. The last set is to failure. Get some squats in there mate and some chins and dips. Chins and dips you can cheat on with some support. Dont go to hard straight away at the gym mate or you might be put off.......take things easy to start with, eat well, sleep 8-9 hours and get big and strong!
