OK. As promised I tried today my peformance in 5 minutes on Concept 2 rowing machine, maximum ressitance setting. Mind you I've done that after 55minutes cardio training and before weights training.

I've done 1237meters in 5 minutes.

Not bad, or is it?

I weight about 89 kilograms and I'm not biggest guy in galaxy as some of you have seen at the Ring.

I've just started goin back down the gym and concentrating more on fitness than building muscle this time!

My best so far for 2000m is 7.40 Not too bad for the amount of lager I've consumed over the past 7 years! Its hard to know when to time the final burst before 2000 comes up. Probally had about 4 goes on the rower over the last three weeks and theve all been around that time. Theres deffo room for improvement. Theres a chart at my gym where the regulars put there times up and theres some below 6.30! that must hurt towards the end!

I'll be adding the rower more frequently as I get fitter. Generally do a quick jog for 20 - 30 mins or the cross trainer then weights.

Crikey some of these times are amazing well done gents

I'm not one really for cardio as been trying to bulk up a bit lately but now hit it a bit more lately as now looking to tone up a bit so after doing 30 mins run & 30 mins on cross trainer Monday night last night hit the rower which was my first proper go for longer than 3 minutes

Anyway managed to do 3524 metres in 15mins 10seconds.

I'm away next week so will have a crack at the 2000 metres time the week after

My best is 6:47.0 for 2000m.

I am not a rower nor am I huge, its mostly just through fitness.

Your doing very good on the rower if you can go below 8mins for 2k.

Keep up the rowing as it is supposed to be really good for your heart.

Shit a brick, I can only do 1000-odd in 5 minutes Fair play Martin

I'm going to get my mate to try this, he holds (probably held by now) the record at a gym in Morecambe for distance in 40 minutes continuous, spent days on it I've never asked him before, due to the blatent humiliation factor...

Edit : on 8, I can do 500m in 1:51, but no way keep it up

Have got to give it a miss again for a couple of weeks but will hit it again when I start again
