Default Losing fat

Right, i don't want to get any bigger or smaller, i just want to lose my fat and tone my muscle.

I'm about 4 stone overweight, at 6 foot and 16 stone.

Am i right in thinking i will trim down and tone up by doing large sets of lighter weights, and can i get away with doing little or no cardio??

Higher reps and light to moderate weights will help to loose the weight because it is closer to aerobic or less anaerobic than heavy weights, your goal will be possible without cardio but it will take a lot longer and you will have to eat a lot less.
Why not a steady state jog for 30 mins first thing in the morn before your breakfast?
Do this 3 or 4 times a week along with 4 sessions of light to moderate lifting (60-90 mins) and you'll have a good training base to start with.
Just watch the cals and you'll be on your way

Just can't stand cardio, I can't find any form that i can do for longer than 20 minutes other than an exercise bike. I particularly dislike running as it seems i can't do it for more than 5 mins without my knees hurting.
