Default TURBO CHOICES T3, stg 3 t3, or t34....Fiesta Turbo

Right seeing as the turbo shat itself the other day, CR turbos will be collecting it tomorrow to have a look then ring me about what i wanna do.

I liked the t2 coming on boost early but hated it tailing off early

SOOOO.... i converted to t3, which in my opinion i was VERY disapointed with it was set to 11psi, and just didnt have enough punch for my liking, so was thinking a stage 3 t3 would be a good shout?.

i think from what i can remember my mate had a t34 on his fiesta and loved it

SO can anyone advise me which one would be suited for what im looking?

rest of the spec will be 195 chip, exhaust filter, 60mm front mount cooler,

Cheers

a good specced t3 will do the job mate.. a t34 wont suit you unless your going to run more than 280bhp where the t3 would fade out... if your going for the 195 chip then have a proper t3,would be a very quick car with minimum lag.. ideal fast road car. mine had a t3 on it at 250bhp[old set up] and sounded really nice, went nice and was nice to drive everyday and enjoyable on any road. where as now im running another 78bhp but on a t4 and its scary when it comes on boost but its laggy!! shit for anormal road untill you come on to a dual carriage way. go for the stage 3 t3 mate!

I would stick with a stage 2 T3, only difference is the retention of the .36 exhaust housing rather than the stage 3's .48 so won't be as laggy. The T2 is pants.

as above mate a stage 2 t3 will have abit of punch and still good for 220bhp where as a stage 3 t3 realy needs to be 220bhp+ to get the benifits... although i love the stage 3 as it pulls great boost to the limiter.... even at like 23psi lol

I find in general whatever turbo you put on won't feel 'punchy' so to speak if it's only running low boost and probably why you thought a bigger turbo running low boost felt pants lol.
I loved my rs turbo when it was running a bit of boost......at 1bar it felt OK but running 1.5-2bar transformed it and really livened it up, and it sounded amazing
I had the equivalent of a stage 3 t3 on my engine and never found it excessively laggy, but i'd decide what power you want to run and then spec a turbo you have to run at a decent boost level to get the power, that way it'll feel punchy and make good torque
A stage 2 3 may well be the way to go by the sound of it!

t66 plus a shot of nos to get it going .......

on a more serious not you want the smallest turbo that will achieve your power goals this will make a car with less lag and great driving characteristics

Without a shadow of a doubt stage two t3, 55trim 2wd cossie with .36 rsturbo ex housing, punchy as, 220bhp limit really as ex housing is too small for above that

Stage three is noticeably more laggy but I'm making 303 on mine so wouldn't bother with stage three
