I love the cars but in all the time's I've been to RR days I have never once seen a stock car make it's claimed 130bhp. They always seem about 8-12bhp down.

Has anybody seen a standard car get the manufacturers claimed power output?

 

nope lol i think its all lies and they have the gti engine in out the escort lol

 

Not seen a car stock make standard power.

Sure there was one that made it with light mods at the www.rs1800.com shootout (zorst and filter)

I believe they are 128bhp (130ps) too

 

you rarely see any stock car make its claimed output

 

mate of mine had one from 3000 miles old. hes made 132 brake. that was in 1993 though. ive seen plenty in fast ford shootouts make 130!!!!

 

Ours made 123 BHP on Engine Advantages rollers and it has got a K&N Airfilter Magnex exhaust and power boost valve.

 

I must be lucky then as all three of mine when standard made the stock power

 

90k miles normally takes its toll on an engine

id say a freshly buil one would make the stock output

 

My Escort had 125,000 on it and it still made 135bhp on the rollers. Admittidly a valve failed not too long after though

The freshly built or low mileage cars seem to be the worst for dropping power. From what I've seen they seem to free up with age

 

I'm feeling that..........always 1 thats been ragged all its life and somehow survived and theyre always quicker for some unknown reason. Always someone else's aswell

 

my s2 made 128bhp 164 ft lb at EA with 112500 on the clock

 

 

At the Fast ford rs1800 Rolling Road day 1 standard rs1800 made 128bhp. Mine made 124bhp but was 130lbft instead of 119!
