Default Fiesta 1.1-RST

Hi i was jus wondering if i can have your guys input to my crazy idea.
im shortly coming upto 17 and im considering purchasing a 1.1 Fiesta classic not new. (if u want to call it classic)
I was thinking after i gain some experience on the road maybe i could buy another Fiesta but this one being a RST, i would take the engine out and wack it in my car, n maybe take out the interior like seats etc.. and take the bumpers.

Do you think this could be a reasonable conversion as some cars need a lot of changes and occur a lot of problems whilst transplanting.

Any feedback will be great
Thanks and many regards
Matt

DO NOT FAIL TO DISCLOSE TO THE INSURANCE CO. You could find yourself in a world of trouble that will screw you up for life. I know a lad who's insurance co refused to pay out after an accident and his folks ended up getting a £10k loan to pay off the other party. Suffice to say his name is mud and he finds it very hard to get insurance since the incident and is stuck in a 1.0l Micra as he just can't insure anything else.

If you can't afford to insure it don't build it.

Get 2 years NCB under your belt and then change the car for something quicker. You will elarn how to handle a car in that time and be far less likely to smash it to bits. Inexperienced young driver in a powerfull car has a horrible habbit of ending in tears. Do it by the book or you will almost certainly end up regretting it.

Don't want to put anybody off cars and modding them mate.

OK tbh i think you guys are pretty sensible, if i buy the 1.1 you reckon i could do mad things to the engine to make it very quick, you may think im jumpin the gun n i appoligise but you cant blame me, i have a passion for cars....and i dont even own one yet!!!

Sorry chap but you will never get any worthwhile power from tuning the 1.1's engine. You could spend a fortune and still have bugger all power. Add a back box and a K&N for a nicer note and free it up a little and then add some cosmetic touches that can then be transfered on to a more powerful Fiesta later on.

Spend a year with it and you'll find just 1 years NCB can open the door to some more fun cars. I got my RST at 19 as did my brother. My bro started with a shonky 1.2 Nova as teh 1.6i Ghia Orion he built (from his 16th birthday) was uninsurable. Once he got his 1 years NCB at 18 he put the Onion on the road and the following year with 2 years NCB he got his FRST.

zetec-s's suck balls

get a 1.1-1.3 mk3.5 with low milage with no rust (it is possiple if u spend the cash)

drive it for a few years save some cash and either buy an rst of make a 100% rst rep then after u got 3yrs ncb dump a reconed rst lump in it or even a zetec turbo

the fact is if your 21 your insurance is cheap ive got a frst and have been quoted £1000 as soon as i turn 21 september 13th

i would personally buy a 900cc cinquecento rag it to death for a few years not give a toss about it call it the chav mobil save up about 5 k and buy an rst and pay a yrs insurance

my fiesta turbo

my cinquecento (i never had so much fun in a car R.I.Pieces)

the fiat was great i used to park it in the trolly park in tescos, drive it on cycle paths and on 2 wheels

I got aFiesta Mk3 SI for my first car.

Cost 650, insurance 1300.

Not silly power but 90bhp is more than enough for the first few months

my 1.6 si was as fast as me mates 1.8 escort gti yesterday until about 70mph and it pissed on him round corners. I had a 1.1 for a little while its ok, it didnt go to well and I forced it to corner but as it was free and burning oil I took some risks with it you know? Im in the same pos as you sorta, I want a sapp cossie so bad but I gotta wait.

How about getting a RST as a track car till you can afford to insure it?
