right, i am in the process of building a fiesta turbo, i have bought christian majors old 1.6 cvh engine engine which i plan on just checking over. i have already bought a brian hansen tubular exhaust manifold and i have got a standard but flowed inlet from cylinder head developments, there are two things that i want some advice with, i plan on running around the 300bhp mark, what turbo would people advise? maybe a t34 or t35 with a .55 or .63 exhaust housing? and as for gearbox the age old question i know a mtx is better but how long would a stage 2 gearbox man box last if i bought direct from him and fresh? i had a 26bhp escort turbo with a jamsport big bearing box and never had an issue. the only thing that puts me off the mtx is chopping my inner wing, i heard you have to ditch brake servo, and custom shafts ect sounds alot more money whereas for a grand i can just lob a stage 2 cts in. please share your thoughts thanks.

Hi chap im having the same problem im running a zvh around the 300 bhp mark, with a standard box and basicly f**ked it, asked on here and on fiestaturbo.com and got alot of mixed advice alot said mk1 focus rs box a few said uprate the standard or ib5 or mtx but focus rs and mtx as you said take alot of work to fit and money, personly im gonna try an ib5 box and uprate the thing see how that works out unless i find a better box forsale on here as they do come up alot it seems, as for turbo i run a t34 16 fin turbo with 360 bearing stagard oil seal, with standard manifold and downpipe and ran beaut, i am in the process of fitting a jamsport manifokd and custome downpipe with external wastegate, i see your in leicester aswell where abouts as ive never seen one around here?

 

hello mate, nice to hear from somebody around here. where abouts are you from? leicester yourself? im from a place narborough. im just trying to weigh up whats best i think i am going to risk it and buy a cts stage 2 bc gearbox. see how it goes, as it was once said , if it dies.... it dies.

 

Im about 5mins away from you, i live in enderby but cars in huncote, ive got a bit of work to do before i sort the gearbox out so gonna see whats around at the time im tempted with mk1 rs box tho

for the price of a cts box (as you say 1k) im sure you could sort a mtx conversion for that.. around £400 gets you a focus rs box
