I have nothing doing below 4000rpm then she pulls light a good un?? and miss fires at low revs speshly when in high gears.( 30moh in 5/4 gear mainly) i run it on high octane fuel or v-power, and have new plugs and leads.. any help???

 

i have exactly the same issue, if anyone can shed light on the subject that would be sweet. ive tried cam timing, fuel pressure, injectors and different boost levels

 

zetecs suffer from plugs leads and air flow meters, n they all give that kind of effect, but if you've had plugs and leads try unplugging your air flow meter, it will go to a base setting, so it should run OK with it unplugged if its faulty! my old xr3i 130ps was the same, unplugged air flow meter plug and it was fine just a bit fuely! then bought another off ebay for a 10er! but in the worst case it could be a valve burning out or head gone pourous!?.... try AFM first tho its free 2 try lol.

 

check for any air leaks, make sure jubilee clips are all tight

 

except mines an eight valve turbo! running OFAC so theres no AFM. with the zetecs they sometimes grumble on no 1. you can pull the injector plug off and theres no change in engine behaviour till around 4k. correct me if im wrong but ive found that means youve done a valve! the flat spot on mine feels like theres no fuel or something then as soon as it hist 4k it spins the wheels and fcuks off big time. i guess its not fuel though as it pulls later on in the revs where it needs most. havnt tried pressure regulator because i can hear the pump change note as i touch the throttle, so something is happening. its been fine for ages thenone evening bam, no power under 4k. on a good rag its not an issue cos it never goes under that but on hills and stuff its a bit poo!. checked all boost pipes and it boosts and hold just 1.2 bar (on a stage one chip but im not complaining lol). any ideas on the ignition timing setup. it could be backing off somehow. at 4k it has a wee stutter just before it kicks in. its driving me mad!!!!!!! HELP
