are xr2i's reliable????
I am seriously thinking of getting an xr2i 8v for my first car. However my parents would rather me get a newer and more "RELIABLE" car . So what are your views on past experiance on the reliabilty on the xr2i 8v and how easy is it getting parts for them?
Cheers

well i have a Hplate
got it in october last year with 107k on clock have done 15K since with no problems
as long as yu look after them, they look after you
change teh oil every 5k or so etc
still pulls great and handles really well
is a good idea as they can be cheap and yu can do alot to em if yu want
mine is standard however

My old H plate was good as gold. Only issue we had was the headgasket (which went after a day of track action) and a few sets of lower arms.
My mum has an H plate and in the 3-4 years she's had it it's sailed every MOT and the only things to fail were the valve stem oil seals and the CPS.
Buy crap you will have grief buy right and you'll be fine
