Thank God I got off lightly!
Just though I'd tell you all about a close shave I had.
Perhaps you people wana post up your own 'Thank God I got off lightly!' stories? Everybody's got a story to tell...
I had a brake failure the day before my rolling road at PE, and went slamming into and over a curb. (good old Ford ABS f*cking up, again)
I knackered two wheels, 3 tyres, a front leg, both (polybushed) wishbones, front wing, etc.
Ended up getting a GAZ adjustable kit, new 16's / Toyo's, etc, and sorted it all out.
Done over a grand... and another £25 for cancelling the RR!
I finished up just on the edge of the wide pathway, facing 60mph on-coming traffic. Could have been worse thou...
Could have taken-out anyone walking past, or worse case senario and I if I'd gone a bit further I could have finished up IN the road facing a truck, followed by a trip in a wooden box...
Which reminds me, I gotta f*cking sort them out, that was months ago.

Cheers people.
Got the car home at 10pm that Monday night. Luckily had a few days off work as did a mate so we looked the car over on the Tuesday, decided what was needed and started getting the bits together.
Wednesday we had the bits, new shock, wishbones, tca stabilisers, a coulpe of wheels and a partworn tyre.
Got the car up on the ramps at Kwik Fit late in the day and the car was rolling off the ramp fully mobile by 6.30pm.
Big respect goes out to my mates James, Gav and Lon for that.
Got the wheels and suspension ordered and fitted the new discs, pads and braided hoses at the same time. (Not sure where the money came from, could have been the poor credit card!)
Sailed thru the MOT.
Having the ABS removed completely in the next week or two, possibly brand new servo and master cylinder as I've a feeling there's a problem here somewhere, the brakes bleed up fine but keep going spongy.
Then I'll be going for a rolling road at PE, might finally get round to doing the ice install (had all the gear for months, just ain't found the time, then finally a full respray...? If and when the funds allow. Still paying off the credit card!
I'll have to get some up-to date photo's somewhen...

Touch wood no damage but have had a couple of close calls
Worst time when i was doing 90 in the fast lane of the m25 and lost all excerleration luckily i managed to get over to the hard shoulder with no mishaps which was fun on a busy sat afternoon
Another time i was coming up to a round about on a not so quiet eve put my foot on the brakes and the peddle went straight to the floor i managed to get on the round about and had to go around it several times until i decided what to do
Cars ai pmsl dont you just love em

Got my old pug rally car back from 'POWERZONE MOTORSPORT' after some suspension work and Rolling Road with a split brake pipe I didnt find this out until i was about 50miles into my journey home when i was going round a long sweeping bend i dabbed the pedal and all brakes went to the rear sending me into a 65mph spin towards oncoming traffic missing them by inches hitting the high kirb and sending the car backwards on 2 wheels for about 30 feet until it dropped down on all fours again,
I was very lucky that time also i had a passenger as well, i gave them a proper fucking on the phone
Still here to tell the tale,

Lou Lou, perhaps the cars are just testing our love for them???
I fell asleep at the wheel once, never again.
Was doing 60 in the slow lane on a the A3 dual carrage way, then I woke up doing 40 in the fast lane! A sudden panic set-in...
Amazingly there was no traffic, at 9.30 in the evening. I went to accelerate and get the car back in to the slow lane doing a reasonable speed but the car just chugged about and wouldn't accelerate so I had to pull it over, still panicing...
It made it to the hard shoulder and I turned it off.My girlfriend at the time, slept through-out.
The AA came and diagnosed the problem, a lack of fuel. But it had a quarter of a tank when I last looked? I'd only had the car a week, it had been standing for 6 months and the fuel tank float had stuck!
Thank god I woke up when I did. Won't ever drive if I'm that tired now.
