big end bearings
i have a xr2i H reg the car has been running fine up untill nom but yesterday the big end bearings started to rumbel.
i wondered if anyone had any ideas about how i could fix this problem. (does this mean new engine?) any surrgestions will be greatfully appricated

You will need big ends and mains bearings mate and possibly a regrind on the crank and polish helps the bearings to bed in better. ive just had mine done on my fiesta rs turbo cost me 165 quid they supplied the bearings for me

iowzetec, are you on isle of wight? (iow) if so millstreet garage do them.
if the crank is ok and hasnt got any damage at all you can get away with just replacing the big ends, the right thing to do is all the bearings and poss regrind, but to be honest mate, for a xr2i its not worth it really, as a re grind and shells are gunna cost ya, just depends how far and how much ya wanna spend on the engine
big ends can be got for as little as Ł40,
