Thats is some truely shoddy workmanship there mate, your right to the p1ssed off

You can still get the proper plastic clips from Ford that hold the fuel lines/brakes to the body if you wondering how to attach them properly after youve sorted the mess out of course

Nice carbs. on a wicked old skool car.

Wot did they come off, and how much?

Thinking of going bike carbs on my tt, but need to find some info, on how they behave whilst being blown, (fueling thro out Rpm, and boost leaks)

Cheers Danny

the way they fail brake pipes, is if within the next year (between this MOT and next,) they think they'll rot through and you'll have no brakes. mine failed on both rear lines this yr.

if it wasnt for bad luck then i wouldnt have any luck at all !, having problems sourcing wheel bolts now because apparently my set of speedlines are a proper rally car set that are rare as rocking horse shit and require special bolts, you can see in the pic that they wont accept a standard taper headed bolt and they have a thicker centre section so the bolt needs to be longer, some good news anyway so i dont sound like im a moaning bastard all the time, ive got my new steering wheel arriving soon its a german spec three spoke wheel which i prefer the look of to the four spoke

Surely speedline do similar rims that use the same wheelbolts? perhaps theyre just being awkward

Keep on posting matey, i'll always give you feedback (gives me something to reply to ) its always good to keep a record of progress so that you can look back on, whether people give a toss or not Even i have got progress pics stashed in the deepest darkest corner of a website somewhere

ill stick at it mate, i do sometimes wonder why i spend so much time and effort on a car that i never really get to drive that much, i offered the new wheels up to the car last nite and i aint that keen , ive gone for a taller profile tyre to try and sort the skittish back end and im not sure it looks right, im going to spray them black anyway, cant decide on matt or gloss finish though, might go for eggshell

What size are the wheels? 17s?

Spray them satin black imo, not too shiney, not too dull

your 1600i's are looking fab guys. got an s2 myself but it was a tough decision, sometimes i regret mine. have you got the wheel nuts yet? painted sating would look awesome, not glossy and not silver i reckon, for the wheels.

Them speedlines look great just need to put some tyre cleaner/paint on the tyres, oh and put them on the RS

Nice steering wheel too

How comes youve got a bias valve, what front brakes are you running, standard RSi?

the bias valve is a quick fix to be honest mate, i had a problem with the rear discs locking out, i will be better off with some larger front discs but i havnt got the cash for that at the moment, think ive managed to source some wheel bolts from speedshack so they should be on soon, fingers crossed

Yeh if youve got standard fronts the rear discs are probrably working better than the fronts

Get hold of some cossie 4x4 calipers and 2wd discs, probrably the cheapest and easiest way of uprating the fronts, no need for bracketry or spacers you just need to drill and tap the holes on your exsisting hub for the larger cossie bolts

Dont quote me on that though

thanks for that mate, that sounds like a way forward, ive got a few quid to spend over winter but i really should get going on the bodywork first, it still looks tidy but theres a few ratty bits here and there, ive got some cloth sorted to recover the drivers side bolster so thats the nxt job after the wheels are on

Cant be a lot of rusty bodywork on that mate, looks mint from the pics

If its any help you can always rob the bolster meterial from the passenger seat and fit it on the drivers one, that way you'll still have the stitch line

TBH ive never had any problems with the bolsters, on mine they are mint its just the seat frames that seem to break

theres a trimmers up the road from me that have a roll of near perfect match cloth, hes quoted 100 quid to strip and refoam the bolster and then re do it all with new piping which i thought was ok, what you cant see in the pics mate is both doors are bubbling at the corners and the slam panel is shot on one side, the shell is sound though
