Can anyone tell me what this relay and fuse are for?
car is mk4 xr3i efi.

 

Looks a bit like the ABS ones on the Cossie loo
and similar location

 

Car is a convertible efi model, seems to be a few missing relays in driver footwear.

 

My 4x4 Cossie loom had the same looking connector and fuse holder in the foot well and it was for the ABS.

Does your car have ABS? I assume not.

 

I have just got this car as a non runner, issue is the cars fuel pump is only working with a direct live on the battery which needs sorting, so I'm trying see why it's been bypassed. Hence checking relays, I think the car has abs as standard will need see though.

 

I suspect it is like many cars where the fuel pump needs an earth signal to fire up and not a live...god knows why it would have lost wiring though and I do not know the Escorts at all.

I guess you need a simple wiring diagram and then chase it all back

 

Yea need to find a diagram and have a good look through.
