Default Refitting GTi skirts

My side skirts hide a multitude of sins and a weekend with a hammer found plenty of rust under glass and filler. The rear valance was similar with glass fibre carefully disguised beneath underseal ( I should have taken off the rose tinted specs before parting with my cash).

Anyway, two new full sills and lots of 1st class welding leaves me £600 out of pocket and the job of refitting the skirts. I'm worried that using standard alloy pop rivets will result in corrosion eventually. Would I be better off with s/steel self-tappers or some other solution?

In the absence of any replies I've bought some s/steel self-tappers and little red hinged screw covers. Seems a better solution than using pop-rivets as to remove them ends up damaging the fibreglass skirts.

these attract so much water and leads to rust I would simply stick them on with sikaflex or the like tbh fella with just the odd well placed and treated pop rivet or stainless self tapper, apart from that hows the est doing as I have loads of high spec items for these at moment
