Just got hold of the whole 1600i front suspension setup for £50.

The clamps that hold the bars together however, look to have seen better days.

Any idea where I can get some new ones? Or am i gonna have to get some made up?

The same bloke that I got the supsension off of, is stripping the whole car, so if you want his number for bits, send me a PM.

 

You will have to get some made up, as they are no longer available

 

I might be able to help, send me one of the knackered ones and I'll see if I can manufacture some replacements.

OK Tony, yes, bring it round next time. I'll take a look and see if its feasable to make some from two pieces of 1" square section alloy bar. I think I remember basically how they look, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to make them up, just need the hole diameters off your sample.

i am a machinist and broke mine i made some new ones at the time they were peice of piss to make if you have machinery i could make them for anyone who wants them if meff doesn't bother it would be better if i was making quite a few and i would need a sample to work to

Although I do have the facilities here to make them I am already very busy making the parallel arms, tie rods, tension struts and Bilstein coilover struts!

I suggest that anyone who wants some should let you know on this thread like a "group buy" and you can the make a batch up. I'm sure NutsRus will be happy to lend you an original one to get the dimesions from.
