just gotten a rs16i (ok its a rep ) but its got all the bits

what u think its worth?


60k (less but i cant remember the exact number) full hist xr3i in black

very very good condition fully kitted, interior'd and stickered as a 16i looks the propper job and only a real enthusiast would tell


ill get pics up 2morra but was wondering if its worth much as is, i aint sure what reps go for even tho its pretty mint
i got it with all teh original 3i parts so was thinkin of puttin it back to std and sellin the 16i bits off

got mot and i dont think its ever been welded

Not as much as a 16i mate. Has it got 16i running gear, ie, gearbox, flywheel, twin coils, twin ARB, Koni's, correct wheels ( not S1 wheels ) etc? Probably worth putting back as an XR3i as a money maker but if it's a car to keep and drive just do what makes you happy.

 

whats difference in the rims mate??

its mainly the asthetics that are 16i

the arb and that is still 3i

 

its something to do with how much writing they've got on them.

some have writing on 3 spokes and others only have it on 1 aint sure what way it is though

 

Hard to say what its worth, i mean its a bit of both isnt it? it looks like an RS, and has most of the right bits, but its an XR3i replica RS

If its a keeper i'd say leave it, but i'd reckon you could always convert it back to XR3i and sell off the RS bits, but it'll be hard to get all the right XR bits loooking at how much has been changed.

it came with the original 3i parts too so i have the std interior, spoiler and skirt

its got 6 mths mot but i have to look at the bottom end b4 i do anything

the 4 spoke steerin wheel is pretty good too, i would like to find some propper door cards tho as it still had red trimmed 3i 1's
it seems to be knocking but as its got propper low miles i will have to see if its just teh alt bearings or sumthin

i have a 60k 1.6 bott end too so mite be fitting that if the bott end is duff

its got all old mot's full hist and even the old tax disks and books, was owned by a enthusiast til the bloke i got it off bought a 1.6 i donor to do it up

it wont be for sale soon tho as i wont be able to do owt but wash it til after xmas

the difference in the wheels is the rs16i ones have the ford logo and 'motorsport' followed by a part number, ONLY on 1 spoke, the series 1 wheels have something written on 3 of the spokes.

Nice XR3i there, looks clean

 

very mate, kept the alloy rocker cover for that cos blokes turboin the rep

3i has been restored and it fantasic bar the inner arch and 1 lil bit on the sill

i only gave 70 quid for it as a engine donor for the rep too, just too clean to break up so the rep had to go

Wish i'd never sold my 3i now, mine was the same colour but had an RS1600i front spoiler and wheels, Series two interior and Series one side stripes

But i love my RS too much too buy one now

 

i'd like a rs front but dunno if i'd fit it, nice to have incase i do another rep
