What year is your car, sounds like youve got an early base model there, 1.1L maybe??
Do you have many drilled holes on the passenger side where the servo mounting brackets would be? Maybe you could pull the linkage and servo out of a mk4 RST/XR3i and fit the whole lot, you'll probrably have to get new brake pipes made up to reach it.
On the other hand if you could get hold of a servo and linkage from a LHD escort you could possibly be able to adapt that, but there could be clearance issues

Its the very early ones only that don't have servo's, before 83 and im pretty sure its only the lesser models that didn't have them (the slow ones lol)
GraphiteGray, *i think* all the shells have the mountings, there will just be a blank plate welded in on the passenger side

Yep its the 1.1's that didn't have a servo, and as has also been said it should have the correct drillings on the bulkhead to fit a linkeage and servo to it.
The mk4 servo mounting brackets are different, so don't go to all the trouble of taking one off a mk4 thinking they're the same!
Also, avoid the RS1600i linkeage, its not half as efficient as the standard mk3 Escy type
