Hi everyone could you please give me some info before i start my project? I have a rusted up 16i i want to reshell that has a sunroof, i also have 1.1 L which is in pretty good condition but has no sun roof, i thought all 16i's had sun roofs but 1 has come up on ebay without 1 so do they exist? i know all about the different gutter lenths and things and no that this 1.1 shell is the same as a 16i not a turbo. also i may sell the shell if anyone is interested for the right money! thanks guys

 

The ones without the sunroof were the 'motorsport' versions while the ones with sunroofs were the 'custom' models, bit like a S1 RS Turbo custom and non custom

 

thanks mate the turbos had other options like lecky windas did the 16i? is that ur motor in pic? looks the nuts!

 

Cheers mate, yes the 16i had electric windows and central locking among other things, mine has both more things to go wrong though

they were optional extra's, not all RS16i's had them, mine hasnt.

Just to say you wont be able to reshell and keep the rsi identity

If you use your 1.1 shell you will have to keep the id for that car.

Also the battery tray is different in the 16i to a normal mk 3

 

It was okay but the engine was all set up wrong, running like a bag 'o' shite, it was a load of rubbish i was wrongly advised

Oh well they say you learn by your mistakes she'll be back bigger and better this time

Just a so called 'engine tuner' who i thouht was helping but instead i was given duff information, ended up using the wrong cam and setup

Now im getting help from someone who knows what theyre doing

 

The brake set up is on the drivers side in stead of the passangers size.
