Default Porsche Cayenne, multi stages of polishing and ceramic coatings

This week at the shop. after 4 years since its last detail and dozens of maintenance washes and a few bush scratches gained, Peter the owner decided it was time for a refresh, we started out thinking that a pretty light 2 stage polish would bring the paint back to life but having to wet flat most of the deep scratches out soon changed the tune of the polishing, it now became a personal challenge to create the best finish that this car had ever had, this would end up having mostly 4 stages of machine polishing but 5 stages to the flatted areas, once the polishing was done to my satisfaction the car was coated with Gtechniq Serum Light and after this had cured, a coat of Gtechniq Exo was applied, this would now give years of paint protection to the car and make it far easier to wash and maintain.
I hope you all enjoy this video and as always I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have concerning any part of car detailing and maintenance.

Brilliant work. What a transformation!

i tried wet flatting the Perspex doors on my Twizy as they had a load of glue from the old wrap, I think I need to spend more time with the 2000 and then go again with the da using the 3m system as they are still a little hazy.

I would use 2000 and then 3000 to get better and quicker results, keep checking for heat build up from the polisher, even orbital polishers will build up enough heat for distortion, 3m system works well, keep cleaning the polishing pad out as you go and it will cut better.
Thanks for the comment.

Thank you. Would you use a 3000 pad on the da or just do it by hand with soapy water?

Using a da is fine but keep spraying the pad as they will clogg up and leave pigtails if you let residue build up in the grit of the pad.
