Default DA polishers

Just wonder what you guys think is a good machine polisher to use instead of good old fashion elbow grease, I've used few grinders in the past with modified bonnets to suite but I normally do everything by hand, plus as ford fair is in a few weeks time I need to get my car fully cleaned and sealed for then, I was looking at the meguiars and the kestrel polishers but want to know what everyone thinks

The only down side to the rupes one are they only do air powered unless I'm wrong, I've not read into the 2 properly but I'm looking for a DA that has the Velcro pad

Looks like the DAS pro at the moment then as the lhr21 is a bit too much for me for a first DA, and the meguiars one looks cool but at the same price as the pro when all you get is the polisher with the megs, and a full kit with the pro? Hard choice lol

With mine, I got clay, which is definitely a good thing to do before using your da, then I use meguiars ultimate compound and finish it off with liquid wax on a finishing pad. If u r going ford fair then you will see the results

Yeh clay bar is a must as it makes life so much easier when applying compounds/polish/wax etc, I also use a de-tar as well(autosmart tardis), if your starting off (I'm no expert with da's/orbitals etc) but look into getting a low-medium cut polish as you only want to refine the gloss and remove the swirl marks, as for machining on polish the answer is?

I did my car with the Rupes Big Foot one last week - Made a MASSIVE difference. Can't believe how easy it was, especially as my whole car looked like it had been cleaned with a scouring pad!

Just seen the price of them though - Ouch!

I use a das6 pro with menzerna polishes works a treat and I've tried quite a few over the years meguiars g220 is not worth the extra money IMO mines soon to be upgraded though with a rupes lhr15.
Little reflection shot.

I'm using the meguiars quick clay, compound, pre wax glaze and dodo juice purple haze
At the moment I've used the pad that came with it, it's was a soft flat pad, and a medium bonnet. But defiantly need better pads as it kept leaving hard residue on the paint work? Is it the pad or me using the wrong speed

Probably the pad you should not really use compound with a soft pad I'm using scholls pads at the moment menzerna 203s on a purple compound pad then menzerna 85re on a polishing pad and finally 85re on a finishing pad to get that real deep shine then glaze or paint cleanser and finish with your choice of wax or sealant.

I get all mine from polished bliss great people to deal with and very helpfull.

Definitely need to get some new pads then as the finish came up really well but I know it would improve with better pads
