I honestly dont know where im going wrong with my car, the only thing i dont do is use a grit guard. Maybe my yr old wash mitt needs replacing?? I do rinse it out each time. Should i be machine washing it?
Yesterday i meguiars 3 staged the car. Step 1 is v hard work to take off. I finished off with n tex generation 2 wax and even tho i was using new applicator pad and clean microfibre scratches on the bootlid were still everywhere when looked at under the garage light. Does feel amazing to touch mind u and v shiney, but as said the scratches on the flat boot lid are driving me mental.

The reason it looks awful a week later is your washing out all the fillers in the AG SRP, SRP is loaded with fillers that will hide swirls and scratches, in polish terms of cutting abilty its pretty low on the scale for its abilty to REMOVE them rather than just hide them, panther black looks great if its in good condition, ideally get it clayed then machine polished with something with a bit more cutting abilty.
i had to G3 my brothers car because it was so badly swirled(panther black focus, never polished or waxed in the 5+ years he's owned it), then get a good couple of coats of sealant/wax on and it will still be looking great after its been washed a week later.

Remember when applying a wax or sealant its main job is protection over appearance most of the time . You can enhance the finish with last step products like waxes or sealants (lsp) but it,ll only be as good as the true paint condition allows. SRP is a good product , afaik its a 3 in 1 product , cleanse, fill, and protect. In the detailing world we like to split this down into 3 different dedicated products for the same job for example.

here are a few pics of my range rover sport showing the condition of the paint when i got it and how it ended up when i had detailed it using a das6 pro
As you can see the pics have come up in the wrong order the last pic should be the first
