how do you get your tanks minty mint, my 3 door header tank isnt cracked but is very yellowy ive tried bleach, sonic cleaning and dishwasher so far all to no avail really could do with a nice quick solution??

 

No quick fix mate sorry.
Its the composite in the plastic that stains and
cant be removed.
Fit a later saffy 2wd one if your looking
for a clean engine bay

 

the best way to do it mate is to take the tank off plug up the holes and then
fill half way with strong neat bleach then top up with boiling water and leave
to soak over night done it many times over the years and always seem to work for me

 

I'll try the bleach again cheers for the help

 

Soak in bleach then use bottle cleaning brushes which you can bend at right angles to have a poke around inside to clean as much as you can. Then jet wash it putting the nozzle inside the bottle. Be prepared to get wet!

 

To be fair mate i think Kevin is correct here.

By all means try the above but i had a yellowed header tank before and as a test i cut it in half and scrubbed the inside part with everything known to man.
The staining almost like perforates the plastic. I even triad a file deep into the plastic and it was still yellow in the grooves that the file had created...

 

Put a handful of rice into it with bleace and shake it like a madman
