Default Mopping with G3

My old mans disco is up for sale so i want to give it a spring clean, the paint is nakered, i clayed, polished, waxed etc and no effect, I got some G3 on the way and am going to wet mop it.

Any tips? i am not going for concourse shine, just to look half decent again.

(it gets parked under sappy tree most the time which has messed up the paint)

Cheers.

Also do i need to do anything to the paint after, i.e just hand polish it

I read that you should mop the car with G10 after?

im no expert pal but i have just g3 on my escort just keep the buffing mop wet and the panel wet put a nice dab on the mob rub on panel the put the machine on medium to low speed not to high dont stay in the same place keep it moving the wipe off whats left should be paint color then give it a good wash then a hand or machine polish the shine doesn't rely come out till the polish is applied. g10 is just a finer compound and i wouldnt say is rely needed if you are selling it on will look good enough

The pad will only have paint colour on it if the car is painted in solid colour!
Most newer cars are clear over base so if you then start to get colour on your pad its time to worry!

G3 is very harsh so would be extreamly carefull using it.. but if you do use it..

1st most important thing to do is WASH THE CAR thoroughly!

Keep the panel wet/damp
Try and stay away from edges
Only use a couple of pea size blobs on the pad
Work 2ft x 2ft areas at a time
Start with a slow speed - slowly working up
Refinish with a finer compound polish
Apply a wax/sealer

Above is good advice
G3 is harsh and you don't need much. Even if you keep it wet you will probably leave swirls which is where the G10 comes in as it's much finer

Get an old panel from the scrappy to practice on first. It is SO easy to burn through paint with a rotary, definately not something you want on a car your trying to shift!

since g3 is quite harsh is it possible to get good results using g10 instead?

I'd use G6 then some 3m fine cut paste , and stay away from the edges of the paint or the dreaded burn through will happen ....
