Default Cleaning Saph rear diff

Hi
My rear diff is off the car. Any ideas what I should use to clean the casting as I'd like to bring it up to bufty standard if possible.

Any guidance from cleaning to painting would be appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

i used that '5 wheels steel' paint u can buy everywhere and lacquer. came up a treat, and i painted the little oil plug black and put new zinc plated bolts in the diffplate. It still looks pretty fresh today aswel 10,000 miles later. just gotta lean under the car whenever i clean it an jet wash the underside too
