What is the best windows media player codec for avi files with sound and no picture?? Many thanks

Or, alternatively, install AVI Codec and open the video-file in it......it'll tell you which video & audio codecs you actually need, and give you a web-link to download them (if required):

The above link also has manual links to quite a few codec-packs, and quite a bit of info about file-formats, etc...
