wireless router question

Default wireless router question

ok, got a wrt54g linksys router to which i connect my laptop. there are 2 other pcs connected via cable. the question i have is if i was to connect another laptop or pc via wirelesswould it half the transfer rate if both of the wirless devices were on at the same time or would they both have the same transfer rate?

obviously i no that bandwith on broadband would half or the like but i mean for file transfers over the network etc

They will both connect at the same speed, and then they would divide the transfer rate.

I.E. you have 512k brodband, both wireless devices would download at 12.5k a sec each

so they wud both connect to the router at 54mbps?

If the usb adapters and the router support it, then yes. My D-link USb adapter connects at about 11mpbs I think, was getting transfers of about 22k a sec the other morning on winMX
