Run some decent spyware and antivirus software. See how you get on with that. Also make sure you've got all the latest operating system updates installed.

Also check CPU performance in Task manager. Make sure there isnt some buggy program taking up all the CPU.

Under processes and performance, look for anythging that is consuming a lot of CPU time. When your not doing anything CPU usage so be near on 0 - 2%.

that sounds fine then.

I can only suspect spyware might be causing it.

Are you using the latest version of adaware? I've found in the past older versions dont pick everything up and I've had to run several programs to pick up everything.

Hello m8, firstly, I would say download Avg Antivirus from www.grisoft.com and use the free one, install it, update it, and run it, also, download spybot search and destroy as suggested above, you can get it from www.download.com , also download the microsoft spyware program from www.microsoft.com and then, once all installed, click start and then run, and type in msconfig. The system configuration utility will open up, click and startup, and untick everything except the spyware programs, your broadband modem software if any, and your antivirus apps. Click apply, then ok, restart windows, and see how it goes.
