Default Newtear??? Anyone know about Firewalls....

Anybody know what a newtear attack is?

My Firewall keeps saying it has intercepted them.

Does it mean that someone is trying to get access to my computer?

If so, it does show their ISP address so is there anything i can do?

Cheers

How can I fix this vulnerability?
The fix for this vulnerability is to patch all vulnerable machines. Patches for Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 95 are available.

So, I would assume, that Windows XP with service pack 1 should be pretty safe

Default FW

I have never had the problem myself, but from reading forums on the subject it seems to be people running McAfee Firewall alot of the time that get this problem (BUT i could be wrong) and so they say the Attack comes from the ISP by the looks of the IP Address (lots of people are saying they use AOL). And the best fix i have found on other forums is to disable the Pop Up notification.

People have also been using Zone Alarm Pro and this seems to stop the problem so they say.

Dont know about SP1 try it if you havent already M8 you may have the answer

IMO, get Zone Alarm, Black Ice, and Norton Internet Security / Personal Firewall on there, just to be safe

That's right, the more firewalls and more anti virus software you have the better
