This 3.0 is good though mate, loads of handy features!!
one question, my email address ( that i use for pretty much everything so cant really change it without loads of hassle ) is martin.xxxxx@fsmail.net , i know i cant set it up on the iPhone cos its web based, is there a way i can just forward everything from this account, to another account on the iPhone? i really wanna just use the phone for email see, it would be soo much easier!

thats fine but on twitter its telling me to press restore if you do not want to update to itunes 8.2

Upgraded mine an hour or so ago but cant seem to get it to send pictures, did any of you guys have to do anything to get it to work? mine just says message send error? but will send normal text messages ok

I received 2 text messages from O2 about it, until you get those i suspect it wont work.

Apart from the search function and the keyboard rotation its pretty good, everything else is shite IMO !
Seems to respond slower to key presses.
MMS sends ok but never arrives at destination.
MMS doesnt receive !
Bluetooth still fucking useless.
Thats all so far but I am sure there are other issues !

I've only just got back from my mission LOL and now the missis is watching eastenders on iplayer 
Glad ya all got it as soon as it went live!!!
If you pay for free text then yea, ya mms is free. Mms = 4 texts. No extra charge from o2.

The phone would be called what its called in iTunes. Mines called Marts's iphone.
Im not 100% sure if phone-to-phone connection is included, but by the weekend it will be available on JB - again.

@ Flux: Yours was Jailbroken before wasnt it? When you updated, did you simply click "Update" and "Download and Install" or did you download it to your desktop only?
Reason I ask is because of this...
If your phone is currently jailbroken you will need to use the RESTORE button, not the upgrade button. If you upgrade you will automatically lose about 500mb of disk space and never recover it until you finally restore. (This is due to Cydia moving files around). If your phone is not jailbroken then you can use the upgrade button without any issues.
That may explain the sluggishness of the phone now.
To rectify this try:
iPhone 2G 3.0 Firmware Link - Download
iPhone 3G 3.0 Firmware Link - Download
Use Firefox to get it (or IE - blech), as Safari decompresses the file when it saves it. Then, when the .ipsw file is on your Desktop (or wherever), go back into iTunes, hold down the Option key (Shift in Windows) and press the Restore button in your device's tab in iTunes. iTunes will ask you what file you want to restore with - choose the appropriate 3.0 file you just grabbed.

You have to have iTunes 8.2 to upgrade/use/install/download 3.0 firmware.
Dunno about anyone else, but to be fair, my JB'd 2.2.1 was much better than this 3.0. Bring on the JB 3.0
