Sound problems on my PC.
My PC lost all sound recently. I fitted a new sound card and sound is restored so far as I can play music already stored on my computer . Someone on this web site posted Cossie burnouts at Southend, I could see the images ok but couldnt get any sound. It seems to be a setting issue but with my limited knowledge, I am unable to sort it. Can someone please help me.
Are you sure you have installed the relevant software from the cd that would have been included, plus made sure its up to date when its installed?
Its very strange that its working on some things and not others.
Also do this, click start bar, go to "run" and type in "dxdiag", wait 10-20seconds for it to load then click on the sound tab, get me a screen shot of that(print screen key, paste into windows paint, save it)
If you cant do it or whatever just tell me what it says on that screen and if it brings up any errors

If it's playing sounds from your mp3 files then you've got the correct sound drivers. 'sounds' to me like there's a problem with the video you're trying to watch or it's a setting associated with that video. If it's a Youtube link then you've got a seperate volume control on screen just below the video itself. Could be something silly like that's set too low or on mute?
Sounds like all is well, and like the chap said above its got to be something silly like something on mute in the sound control panel?
How about if you go to youtube, do you get sound from that

Hi guys, further to my post of yesterday, I have been fiddling around today and all is now working. I wish I knew what I have touched to make this happen. Thanks for your thoughts along the way. Regards John.
Further to my earlier post, problems could have been associated to my wireless keyboard and mouse. Following problems with the keyboard, I have binned it and bought a new wired keyboard and mouse. All is working great again. Again, thanks for your help. Regards John.
