Maria, Once deleted from Recycle bin the space has been marked as free space.
Not there in viewable format, but never fully deleted (Unless of course you write over it with some thing else)
Try http://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-downloads.htm (Only a demo so not sure if it will recover or just find. I will check)

No i could give that a go i guess!
Let me rephrase what ive done.... i had a 'music' file on my desktop... i then copied all of my music file into my itunes.... i tehn deleted my music file... emptied the recycle bin...
now when i got to listen to a shong in the itunes it say:
''The song.......could not be used because the original file could not be found... Would you like to locate it?''
so i click yes.... and of course... it isnt there because ive deleted it!

Doh! I dont think a system restore would work as that should not affect files, only programs and settings. You could try a data recovery program, or a computer specialist should have no problem getting them back for you.
you can get free online recovery programes, what they do is list everything that has been deleted and you pick them out to put back in to your docs/desktop.
Although i cant remember the one i used and dont still have it,there maybe a risk of the file being corupt aswell, but still worth a try.
infact ive just found a program now i'll try it and if it works ill post back here.

It depends on the settings in your recycle bin. If it set for secure file deletion (NSA or higher ) then you cannot recover the files. Anything lower then there are many software progs available to restore.

Ria, System Restore should bring them back. I've noticed loads of times I done a restore and found files on my desktop that I had binned before the restore....

I've just deliberately deleted some mp3 and then emptied the bin and used the Undelete prog and it found them all, only tried 15 tho'.
Is your drive split c, d, e, etc or just c ?
If split did you search all drives?

When you are in Undelete, click on "My computer"
If you only have "C" that's all that shows.
If any more show you need to tick each drive before scanning although the bin is usually in "C".

Try going to c:\users\*username* then right click on the desktop folder and go to the previous versions tab.

Handbrake turn......................................
Your mp3's were a file on the desktop?
That was a short cut to a folder somewhere.
You've probably lost the short cut not the files, that's why they aren't showing on Undelete.
The short cut won't show in Un delete, the files could still be around.
Go to;
"START"
"Search"
"Search for music"
put in *mp3 (doesn't have to be in red!) then press "SEARCH"
If all the music shows, it's still there.

Try looking in my Documents, my music and there should be an itunes folder? Or just do a search for folders named itunes... There should be a folder that holds all you music, if so then when itunes says it cant locate the folder just point it in that direction.... You will of course have to do this for all the music you deleted but it's better than nothing!
Hope that works...
