Default HD and processor speed

what it the general min spec processor and mem required to place HD adequatly?

ive got an AMD 2800 processor and 1ghz ram, old spec i know, but is fine at everything else except HD.

even my new video camera wont play and the software tells me the computer processor is too slow

Depends really on the video. If you go into the control panel and then system it should give you the actual processor speed and the memory you have in the machine. To find out your graphkics card memory, click on start, then run, and type in dxdiag, click yes to the message that appears, then click on display and it will tell you the memory.

Higher CPU speed + faster memory and better graphics card will help.





I can watch epsidoes of Two And A Half Men in HD, but I can't tell you for sure if it is HD on the pc lol. Looks mint through the PS3 though

when ever i try to access that diag test my computer switches off and reboots !
it gives me the option to not do the self test, if i dont it will let me look at the display but th einfo is very limited

My old HTPC was an AMD 3200+ and it struggled to play 720p, let alone 1080p. A lot of it is down to the video card being used though - decent cards offload a lot of the processing to the video card to save the CPU..
