Default anyone got gt5 on ps3

was thinkin bout getting a ps3 and getting the gt5. Getting bit confused now as there's gt5HD, gt5 and gt5 prologue. Would love to get the hd one but apparantely its not a full game. Can anyone help me out to explain which is which and are the graphics still good on normal gt5. Thanks

gt5 as in proper game isn't out yet as far as im aware.

gt5 prologue I have on ps3 and is pretty good - does have online play aswell but you can't mod the cars in this version. Its worth the £18 you can get it for from play and I like the PS3 console. Loads of cool features. what console do you have now?

GT5 has not been released yet,
GT5 HD is a 1 track few cars demo,
GT Prologue is an online game, no mods, offline game more cars, more tracks
All are awesome graphics, and the PS3 console is brilliant, well worth getting.

"IMO" GT5 Prologue is not that good, graphics are ok, but the AI is bad, handling is hard and you get a penalty when you bump with other cars or go a bit of track. not worth buying the PS3 for,

Buy Race Driver Grid its better, but thats just my opinion

Probably just leave it then I think. Doesn't sound like its gonna be out for a long time. We got a Wii at the moment which the kids love.

Are the PSP's any good. Might get that with my contract then give it to my boy!

I found penalty's for bumping in the offline game try to teach better racing and less of the bully bully boy tactics, online is more awkward because of different connection speeds and some of the inconsiderate drivers who decide to hit and bounce of everything on the track.

you can mod the cars if you complete the races in first 3 classes

Not exactly modding them though is it, you can decrease the weight, up the power and change camber etc but no new parts etc

I didn't try it online yet so i can't comment on that,

But the think that really hurts me, is that there is no damage, so when you hit an other car (or most probably the AI cars will hit you) you will just get that "bounce effect"

None of the Gran Turismo's series have had damage as of yet, maybe sometime later. I have always been a big fan and i believe it is an awesome game and will deliver what it promises.

but upping the power is modding them, or isnt it?

one of the older GT's had damage (GT2 i think?) wasnt visible, but did make a difference to how the car drove and definitely affected its performance.

I can't say i'm a big fan of it, but i like it.

Point is when GT1 and GT2 come out they were great but they also were the only racing sim game of that type.

Now a day there is competition, and it seems they have fallen a bit behind....
I just hope that GT5 proluge is a very big reduced version of the full game, and i hope that for once in a game there is a good selection of Fords

Rumour has it that after the main release of the game they will be releasing up to 5 new cars a week available for download.
Not sure if it is true so dont take it as gospel.
I would think there would be a small charge for the download but would be well worth it in my veiw.

I wuldn't say its modding them, its just like upping your boost but obviously in GT5 it would be a little more reliable.

by "modding" i would think it refers to changing the appearance of the car.
and tunning meaning alter the performance of the car

I've always liked the GT titles. Big difference to the games that were about compared to this 'simulation' of GT apart from the damage issue. Gotta admit I never actually completed one because of the long endurances but still in a class of its own!
