Laptop - MORE problems!
Used it last night - worked fine. Shut it down about midnight, went to bed.
Just turned it on - refused to go past the WELCOME screen. Rebooted. Same problem, and again. Booted into safe mode, did a system restore, boots up now, but is sluggish as hell, takes ages to do anything and normally it takes all of 10-20secs to log onto my wireless network, but now it just sits there saying AQUIRING NETWORK ADDRESS and does nothing
WTF? How can something go wrong overnight when it's turned off?

Maybe it's the person behind the controls
I'm just kidding. These things happens sometimes. A file on the harddrive gets broken on shutdown, and causes problems. Usually fixed with reboot and maybe a restore, but not in this case..

Restore didn't seem to help - except cause me to have to reinstall IE7
Got the wifi working again - uninstalled the card, then reinstalled the driver and it's connected, but this just doesn't seem right compared to how it was running yesterday...
Gonna reboot again in a bit and see how it fares...... If not, it's gonna have a new OS install (again) as I am sure this one didn't take too well.....

Fucking thing refused point blank last night to even find my wireless network, let alone connect to it! Even when I was sat right next to the router
Working fine now, jacking someone elses wifi whilst out and about at work cos they haven't bothered putting a password on it

before doing system restore i'd have done this....
Pressed Power on
Keep tapping F8 (to get to advanced startup options)
Select "USE LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION"
Select WINDOWS XP
this would have then loaded settings from a time when your PC booted fine (the previous day)

Well, it's reconnected to my wireless network, but it didn't seem happy about it. Took ages to aquire network address, then told me it was connected, then told me it had limited or no connectivity, then couldn't find the network, then found it, then took ages to aquire network address, has been online since, one drop out, but is slow as shit.
Yet when I found a free wifi network whilst out and about today, it connected nice a quickly, and was much faster through webpages, and I had LOW signal then and now I have EXCELLENT signal!
So I am at a loss - is it the wireless card in the laptop? Is it my router? Is is the OS on the laptop (only been shit like this since I did a reinstall last week)
A YouTube vid has been loading now for 15mins and still hasn't started playing.....

My laptop slowed right down and kept freezing. Reinstalled windows and made no difference. Turns out I had a shit load of bad sectors on hard drive. To check this right click on 'c' drive in my computer, select propeties. Then select tool tab and do error check, it can repair them sometimes. If u have a shit load of bad sectors save ur files to external drive before it too late.
