It;s an Asus mobo (p5k midi), with 4gig of PC6400 (800mhz) dual channel. CPU is an 8400 and as mentioned a measly 3870. Powered by a corsair 520 supply.
I have a fair few things plugged into the rig as-ahem- I mainly play flight sims. So have rudder pedals, TIR, joystick, 5.1 surround headphones.
How do I take a pic of my desk top to show the result?

I once had a genious little prog for clocking in windows. Just change the FSB, mp, volts etc, and the you could run a stresstest to check the stability. Genious I tell you, can't remember the name tho

ASUS Super Memspeed Technology
Surpass the Limit with Easy Overclocking Choices
Surpass the Limit with Easy Overclocking Choices ASUS´s Super Memspeed Technology keeps you one step ahead by breaking through current FSB and DRAM ratio proportions with full support of native DDR2 1066. With support for future memory trends, your purchase investment is protected; and it is the best stage for overclocking options when compared to other technologies that run at reduced frequencies of DDR2 800 or require overclocking to reach DDR2 1066. It is also the only technology that allows overclocking to be more convenient and smart - providing better compatibility and the ability to overclock up to 1370MHz - an enhancement of up to 71% - granting great performance for 3D graphics and other memory demanding applications.

Here goes, spec first:-
Q6600 @ 4ghz || Asus Maximus Formula || 4870 crossfire 815/1050 || OCZ ReaperX 4gb || 300gb Velociraptor || Two 500gb SpinSpoints || Corsair HX620 psu || Dtek Fuzion v2, EK FC blocks on gfx cards, Hydor L30 Pump, BI pro 240 rad, Scythe 1900rpm fans.
Now pics (I really must get some better pics taken):-
Old photos but it shows the layout of the case better:-
@ 3.6ghz - now running stable at 4ghz:-
Benchmarks?
Super Pi comes in at a shade over 13second @ 1m places.
3DMark06 = 20268 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=7656128
Vantage = 12482 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=268535
I'm sure there is more to come from this machine but TBH I've kinda been distracted by playing with the Westfield recently

Cheers
I really need to have a good session at tidying the cables up though!
I also think you've beaten me in SuperPi - I'll open it up tonight to check. You might have given me the kick up the **** to squeeze those last few mhz out of it though
*PS - @ Stu - I'm the chap that used to have the blue modded Sierra that you worked on a few times - I'll have to pop down and show you the Westfield that's been built out of it
Regards.
Rob.

fastest in the world at the moment
Oh, and my SuperPi score was only 13.91s :-( I'm having too much fun tuning my Westfield to spend hours trying to improve it. I'll have to contend myself with my 3DMark06 score

Whats your phenom really because they didn't do a 9500 be?
Unless your phenom has a **50 on the end of its model number its a b2 stepping.
Which means you will be suffering from a 10% performance hit due to the tlb bug.
+ You're not running in dual channel mode with 3gigs of ram.
You got a good graphics card though!

Anyone running ATI cards in xfire mode (inc 4850x2 and 4870x2) and quad cores grab the new cat 9.1 drivers that came out today - took my score in Vantage from 12482 to 14150
Includes quad core enhancements applicable to most games as well - nice to see ATI finally cracking the threaded nut

Been ages since I SuperPi'd my PC. I've since added 2GB more ram, changed Mainboards and added an 8800GTX. Also I've gone back from Phase cooling (modified Vapochill, 240v compressor, Lightspeed lineset, evap and a custom blend of gas). Back on Air now cuz it's quieter and tbh the thing is fast enough for everyday without being at -30degC!

E8600 that ran 533x8 24/7 on my forum
many of the guys I know can pull sub 10 second pi scores with extreme cooling rigs and wolfdales.
Im personally not bothered about benchmarks as unless the test environments and conditions are the same the comparisons between one benchmarked rig to another has little relevance. Benchmarking is a tool to measure your system improvements and nothing more imho.
