Default wrong product key entered in XP...

Hi

i think i've entered the porduct key wrong in XP pro. i recently formated and installed xp pro. i entered the key. but now as i try to install SP2 i get the message that it has the wrong product key entered.

any way i can re enter this key?

You need a key changer, im sure ive got one somewhere.
Shouldnt be too hard to find one on google

Hi

cheers for that. i checked my key. i had entered a z instead of a 2

i've tried entering the key and updating. after restarting i load up the SP2 and i still get the same message that the key is wrong.

any ideas?
or shall i not bother with sp2?

It's not all bad, there are a few things that need sorting out, as with all MS products, but it includes all the latest updates, so well worth putting on!

I have the fix for this, but you will know what you are doing as it is quite tricky to do m8, and Sp2 is worth the download IMO.

righ then...

so far u have found my product key.
when entering it i click on activate windows by phone.
then it asks for a confirmation id before letting me enter the product key.
i ve tried copying the installation id into this box as its the same numer of digits ( 7 boxes each with 6 digits in each) then clicking NEXT.
but still no luck. any ideas?

i've checked my product key using a program called viewkeyxp
not sure any this other number tho...

i tried but it was still asking for the installation number to. without entering this i updated it and re started but still couldn't lolad sp2 due to wrong product key

it works for me but then I dont have a genuine XP installation CD
