Worst thing you could of done was tried turning it on, might of shorted something and fudged it. But put it in a warm place for a day or 2 (airing cupboard or something) to dry it out then try.

mate of mine worked in it support

woman phoned up and said "i've spilt a drink on my keyboard, what do i do?"

he said "take the keyboard and run it under a tap, then shake the water out and let it dry, this should solve the problem but if not then it's a case of buying a new keyboard"

2 days later he was up before his manager and asked to explain why he'd let this woman run her laptop under the tap

Anything electrical can survive water ASLONG as its not turned on until its 100% dry, or had any sugar removed too.

So, clean off all sugar with just water, let it dry for afew days in a warm place, and then try it.
But as you have already tried to turn it on, you may of fucked it already

well it switched on this morning but all it does is the fans kick in etc but nothing happens on screen or no beeps etc so it sounds like its going to work but it doesnt

i think as far as insurance is concerened theres prob a 150 excess which then makes it not worth claiming, not unless theres a smaller excess for accidental damage, im with direct line anyone shed any light?
