how much would i be looking at for someone/company to build me a top pc for playing games? all up to date grafics and sound cards ect? i only need a tower
for parts I would estimate between Ł1500-Ł2000.
Depends how extreme you want to go. Some parts are a bit overkill. But in general you would be looking at an SLi Motherboard, 2x 8800GTX cards (a bit overkill), Quad Core CPU (core 2 Duo), 4GB RAM (8 if you want and DDR3 if you want), about 900W+ PSU to run it all, A kick ass case like the Antec Gaming one, possibly watercooled, decent soundcard, dont know about hard drives. Thats about it really. DVD-RW and the rest are extras.

you can go as far as spending Ł3k it really depends how flashy you want to go, and that would just be on parts i don't know how much someone would charge on top of that.
the above spec sounds about right but with hard drives you'd be looking at some sort of raid setup, maybe 2x 500gig which if you bought a top spec hard drive you'b be looking at Ł300-Ł500 each!

Floppy disk drive is optional really in this day and age.

Dans spec is good but id get a faster processor, http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/125202
3ghz and 1x2 mb of cache
fast as a core 2 duo E6600 and its cheaper than the lower spec one dan posted
EDITED to say if your going to use a screen bigger than 20" then you will benefit from getting the 640mb version of the 8800GTS graphics card

From the two I'd get the second one then upgrade the RAM to at least double. But RAM ain't expensive so no worries there plus its cheaper to buy in the first place going by the buy it now prices.

If you are looking at a "top" system to play games on then your budget will need to be high. If you are looking a system to play "some" games then it will be lower. Remember there is no point owning a graphic card that can play a game at a 100fps if your monitor does not support this screen res.
What monitor have you got?

its a TFT monitor
not really looking for a top system , just somethin to play simular games with a mouse, football manager 2008 comand and conquer tiberian wars ect
As you monitor only display 1024x768 you can get away with a lower spec graphic card saving you a few quid. You would be better to set a budget and peeps can help you from there.
