Not me but i play the newest offering 2142 and i love it, best game ive played in years, ive had it since it came out about 6-7 months ago

Yeah it is hard to stay alive when you first start off but when you get better in time then you last alot longer

 

BF, is that like what age of empires was and Rome: Total War?

An army style game where you build an army then go attack your enemy?

as you can probably see 2142 is much more into the currant day(and beyond) in terms of vehicles and weapons

can't decide if its worth spending out on 2142 yet .. might just have to play on this for a while to get some skills in
as for flying them helicopters must be my oversensative trackball as its not easy ... manged to fly a plane earlier ... straight into a big mountain .. worst bit is i should know how to fly

 

It took me ages to get the hang of flying chopper's, practise does really make perfect on that, not tried a plane yet, I ain't no Maverick yet

 

Took me a while to get used to heli's/battle choper in 2142 aswell, at first i was scared and didnt use them because i knew i end up stacking it or blowing up somehow but now im pretty good and even though im good on 2142 if i go to BF2 i find them hard to control its just getting used to them

 

keep getting people complaining about not being able to fly gotta learn somehow better gunner than pilot

 

Eagle i dont know how BF2 works but on 2142 you can create your own server to practice on

hve been flying around whilst waiting for people to come online so getting better... slowly still suffering with severe killings starting to think if its worth the hassle now... keep throwing purple hearts at me had 4 now

I've only ever had 1 purple heart in a round, i honestly thought it was a axheivement at first

 

whats a purple heart? i havent played BF2 online before, just 2142 and that doesnt have any purple hearts

Eagle get yourself a joystick much easier to fly with those, barrell rolls are piss
it does take a while to get the hang of it though but once you do, let the owning begin.

ps: i must have knochted up about a million purple hearts (purle owns ) by now.

yeah im game for that .there was problems with the game via blue red team tag names ..ie shooting your own team

and as i played lonewolf most of the time ..i shot every fucker i could see and then got booted for team kills

i got the hang of flying the choppers but the jets are fast as fuck..death dealers...

think its the best game ive EVER PLAYED ONLINE

TBH i spent a awefull lot of money on the pc to get the specs i wanted for the game

2 gig of ram is a must ..i the rest that i spent ..but not wasted money ..

looks like more memory next then .. 1gig is working but it does stutter some times...

avid fans right about needing surround sound is a must, as it helps pin point snipers and hearing where tanks/cars are comming from.

currently have a p4p800s-e on xp pro and a p5p800 on vista ultimate..

now do i run bf2 on the vista machine and get 2 gig of ram .. or get 1 meg and put it into the xp one...

yep 2gig of ram is a must for BF2 or 2142 online, especially if you want half decent graphics

Eagle use the machine thats fastest

edit to say .. just used google to death and found it does ... phheewwwww so might go and get 4 gig of ram now

 

install it and try it before you go upgrading just to see if it works ok.

 

need to increase this one to 2 gig as its sooooo slow at processing video files so might just bung it in the newer one see what happens
will have a go at installing it tomorrow and see if it tells me to go home

 

go onto youtube and search for "battlefield 2142 vista" or words to that effect, should come up with users who posted videos of 2142 running on vista oh yeah i forgot your talking about BF2 do the same except add "bf2"

it can also find USERS PLAYING ONLINE so we can see each other in games
