just installed it and i am impressed
internet seems so much faster than the xp pro i had on this pc before..

see if i get any problems with drivers next

 

The net being faster is probably because you were due for a OS re- installation, even reinstalling xp pro would have probably got the same result
Still at least it looks pretty eh?

Ps if i dont get a reply for a week ill know why

 

It is rather pretty looking, but drivers can be a nightmare Oh, and games too

 

Thats why im not getting it until i keep hearing "vista seems to be spot on now" or words to that effect

 

hate to say had a 2 week old install of xp pro on it

I got an xp transformation pack & its wicked!

 

i have .. worked first time i know ... just opened the wirelesss network bit stuck the key in and it connected
i was so bloody surprised thats why i posted up i had installed it ... was the ultimate version so that might be the reason
back on the other pc with xp pro now tho got a few things to keep going on here before i give into the power of microsoft

the transformation pack is not my thing, its just eye candy with no purpose... same could be said for vista though

 

i just think it looks coll the novelty will wair off though

I've tried loads of those. They are all horrible, look nothing like Vista and suck the life out of your RAM. Really, really bad!

I've got an alienware theme and its wicked! Still on XP but with the alienware theme

 

where did you get that ts looks the dogs

 

My wallpaper is from the nvidia SLi zone www.slizone.com they do various ones and I liked the look of that the best. My theme is directly from alienware

The theme is alienware but I like my desktop wallpaper so I kept that. I have the icons, windows and taskbars all from alienware though. They do various other themes as well not just one. All from one program and you can interchange. Really cool, try it!

About vista, i managed to get a copy of the basic version (oem) and installed it on my pc on sunday, now it does look really nice and its certainly at least as quick as xp on my machine but i just couldn't get creative control panel to work with my X-fi sound card, i tried everything i had sound but since i couldnt use the control panel i couldn't tweak the sound settings and stuff so it sounded really crap compared to what im used to on xp.
Secondly my oldish labtec webcam wouldn't install properly.

Now if the two problems above didn't exsist then id have been over the moon with vista but as it stands im just acquiring another copy of xp

Wonder how long it will take before i can reinstall vista with no problems

 

The control panle for my philips soundcard doesn't work, i can sort of set it up, but it just crashes everytime I try and make alterations

 

yeah fcking annoying little things like that isnt it vista would be spot on for me if i didnt have the issue with control panel and my cam.
