Only had Battlefield 1942 ( all those moons ago )

Couldn't get into it really. I've got high hopes for 2142

nah dont think i will for a while 350+ is alot to spend on a graphics card, plus i dont think im getting the full potential of my 7950GT, if i got a E6600 and 2gbs of decent ram i think id still get improvements with my existing card
But eventually ill have to get an 8 series card to play DX10 games etc.

 

Yeah I think them dual core jobbies do the business

 

Ive got a dual core now mate (AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200) pretty speedy but when compared to the core 2 duo's of the same price the core 2 wins out on performance..........

Well I've been out spending money again. This is why I never finish games because I got too many on the go

Went into game and looked through the 2 for 15 squid, so I got

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory





And F.E.A.R.





And my delivery came the other day too





and I needed this guy quite a bit





I don't know what the hell I'm doing in this game. I think I'm gonna need a lot of practice.

About 2142, yes it will come with practice trust me, i mean take me for example when i first started playing this game i never ever played a battlefield game before and now im pretty damn good if i do say so myself
The best mode as i said before is titan mode, but that takes alot of getting used to, i.e what your actually meant to be doing and the aim of the game but keep playing, keep getting shot by people every 30 seconds and you will learn and get better, its the pro's killing you all the time that make you learn etc

Whats your player id and ill add you, i can then setup a server so its just me and you and i can show you the ropes, it wont be showing you how to be an expert i cant do that, but i can show you the basics then you can build from there, at least you will know what your doing then

 

Also little tip from me, you probably found out you cant set the screen resolution to match your monitor? (i couldnt for a 17" 1280x1024) so i found this trick on several forums so you can run the correct resolution no matter what screen size you have.....................

On the 2142 icon that you click to start the game, right click on it and hit "properties" then in the target box go all the way to the right and put one space after the last digitt and type in the following

+szx 1280 +szy 1024 exactly that except change the numbers to whatever your screen res is and even though it still says the wrong value in game it will actually run at the res you changed it to(if you want to check do a screenshot and it will say the right res so you know its worked)

 

to get good a 2142 quick

go onto the busiest server you can find

preferbly conquest first to get used to it as theres a lot of little hiding places incase your in trouble
