Partition Problem?
Hi there,
I have been working on a machine to try and create more space on the system partition as it had only a handful of mb left! Anyway I was using a certain partitioning program and merged the extended partition with some un used space from the disk. (Left the system space alone firstly) I did this, just testing really and now the machine wont boot.
All i get is 'Press A Key To Reboot' each time.
I'm not quite sure what has happend, the program still think's all the data is there and I didn't actually do anything with the system / os partition so i'm not quite sure why the o/s is refusing to load (It seem's to think the primary partiton cannot be found?)
Any idea's what I can do to get it to boot again? - I've booted to dos and cannot see the C: drive at all, and no I can't boot to safe mode either
Any thought's?
Thanks

I can tell i'm not going to be able to boot it again from that partition am i?
- I will probably end up slaving the disk off and getting at all the data (I hope
) and then wiping the disk and creating one partition...fook knows why you would partition a measley 10GB disk

Well, the last time I had a partition error, I kissed goodbye to 40 gig's worth of MP3's m8.
I would throw in another drive as a master, (disconnect the one you want to get the data off), install XP or 2000, then connect up the other drive and cross your fingers

Sorry Dan, I should have mentioned it's a 2K Pro box, not XP.
Anyway, just slaved the disc off to one of the XP test box's at work, job done
It's a little more work than I wanted, but at least it will be properly sorted from now on.
