I don't have alot of room so want to replace my laptop, stereo, TV, DVD player with a PC and LCD TV

I also fancy building it myself

I've no experience but it can't be that hard???

What do I need?

Anything else? Any good places to buy the parts?

Any particulary reccommended parts, don't need state of the art.

M8, check out the pc spec's post, and then look at www.ebuyer.com

All you need, is a good motherboard + processor combo (i'd go amd personally) a very good graphics card (check www.overclockers.co.uk for their nvidia range)
A lot of ram
Good hard drive space, I'd go for 1 smallish one for windows to run on, and 1 large one for storage.
5.1 at the smallest sound card with speakers

Get a cpu cooler desinged for a bigger cou then you have. I have an AMD XP 3200 64+ cpu with a XP 3400 fan on it
