e reg mercury grey series 2 rs turbo, I'm selling this so I can buy a mk2 escort, it's mot'd July tax January, only mods I can see are koni suspension, magnex stainless steel exhaust, samco hoses, and I think it's chipped, it's running standard boost at 0.5, starts and runs fine, it has 2 small bits of surface rust one just beside bodykit at rear wheel and 1 bit just beside the boot lock both are very small though, car is totally original looking the alloys have the reg number stamped on them, it has a sigma cat 1 alarm and immobiliser fitted too with certificate and is hpi clear, it has had some welding in the past but it's nice n solid, it's had new sills and some bits done on rear legs also had a battery tray fitted at some point, it's got 4 toyo proxes fitted too, it's not mint but is tidy and not looking for crazy money for it either, price is £1700.

hi all here's a few bits I forgot to put in the advert lol, there is some slight bubbling at the sunroof, the spot lights and smoked rear lights are removed it has STD rear light refitted, also a few weeks ago the gearbox went in it so I paid £170 to have a replacement fitted, there seems to be a slight whine in 1st and 2nd gear it's not massively loud and iv been using it everyday since it was fitted and it's not got any worse if anything it's quietened down a bit, selects all gears fine and the mechanics at work have said it'l be fine as long as it's got enough oil in it which it has as I had it filled up with fresh oil when the box went in.
lastly I'm going to give it a couple of weeks to see if it sells and if not I'm going to think about breaking it, I'd rather not do that tho as it's a decent enough car for the money but I'm after a mk2 so need to get this away one way or another s if there's anything you might need let me know cheers.

the roof isn't really that bad it's only a couple of bits about size of a finger nail, but for the price of the car it's got to be expected, I looked at cars that weren't anywhere near as good as this one and they were priced between £2000 - £3000, I think it's a fair price for it but I suppose it doesn't matter what I think it's what someone's willing to pay lol, cheers.

I know this car as well (friends with prev owner) and can confirm its a nice tidy car, total bargain at that price if you ask me considering the usual examples you see under £2k.

no problem mate let me know when your up this way and we can maybe sort something out, don't see any reason why it wouldn't drive back home I drove it about 80 miles home when I bought it and use it every day and apart from the gearbox going it's been absolutely fine clutch is good brakes all work as they should, it doesn't overheat etc, suspension although quite stiff is all in good order, hope this helps mate cheers

looks like I'm gonna have to break it no viewings or phone calls, i'l have a think about prices and start a parts thread in next few days, shame too as it's a nice car, oh well i'l be selling the shell with engine and box still fitted with doors boot bumpers for £850 if anyone would be interested cheers.

No problem mate but would prefer if you arranged your own courier to collect it I would wrap it up well but I'm really busy with work and don't have time to go through couriers as I'm sure it would be expensive to post, so if you arrange that side you can decide if your happy with the price, hope ths is ok mate, if cars not away by Friday i'l start a thread for parts and you can have 1st option on the bonnet cheers.

well my rs has been rather fortunate lol, the car I was supposed to be getting at work has fallen through just now it's not getting traded in till next month now so I need to keep using the rst till then so I can't break it now, i'l still be selling all the chrome stuff and rear lights so if anyone's interested let me know, would also be interested in a cheap p/x upto about £500 so I can still get to work etc if anyone's interested in the escort, cheers
