Escort rs turbo s2 – mid-mounted engine, rwd.(deposit now taken)
ESCORT RS TURBO S2 – MID-MOUNTED ENGINE, RWD.
Bought this car about 5 years ago already in the RWD configuration and have been slowly rebuilding into what you see today.
I no longer have the time to complete the project and its time for it to have a new home.
There is comprehensive photo restoration on PassionFord and this can be viewed here………

This project is virtually 100% complete, very little left to do. Spec as follows…
SHELL:
1988 E XR3I body shell, V5 present and correct. (registered SORN)
Shell is 100% RUST FREE!
Escort engine bay welded in where rear seats used to be.
Custom multipoint welded-in rollcage.
Petrol tank relocated to front of car. Still has a boot area.
Custom motorbike fuel filler in front wing.
Genuine RST bodykit including bonnet, smoothed 90 spec bumpers & 90 spec spoiler.
Genuine Escort Cosworth front splitter (modified).
RUNNING GEAR:
RST S2 brakes on front.
Cosworth rear calipers and custom discs on rear, custom handbrake. (that works!)
Adjustable rear wheel alignment (due to having locked off steering rack on rear) (see build pics)
Car has 4x front shocks so can be made fully adjustable with coilovers, etc. (has standard shocks)
New brake lines fitted throughout. New Fuel lines fitted throughout.
16” multispoke alloys (2 tyres v good, 2 tyres ok)
Lots of poly bushes.
ENGINE:
1600 standard CVH motor (very good, no knocks, rattles or smoke, sounds sweet, 180BHP)
Hybrid turbo, chipped, -31 actuator, cone filter, custom Mongoose stainless exhaust.
Pace charge cooler with HUGE radiator mounted up front.
Large custom oil seperator, Bailey Piston dump valve, custom twin fans (switchable).
Customised wiring loom with all repositioned sensors hooked up.
INTERIOR:
Cobra FIA buckets, new TRS harnesses, Momo steering wheel, new Lifeline plumbed in fire extinguisher, custom dash with all NEW instruments…
Rev counter with shift-light, boost, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, digital charge-air temp & digital SPA speedo which can do 0-60 times, etc.
Custom aux fusebox, push button starter, main power isolator switch.
Think that’s most of it, if you have more questions please ask.
Very easy to have this car road-legal, which is why I did the handbrake, etc.
There are a couple of things which still need doing and roughly they are….
Rear wheels need to be correctly aligned, engine requires a set-up due to not being driven for years, it starts perfectly though and I regularly turn it over. Probably a couple of other very minor jobs too which escape me at the moment but really is 99.5% complete.
I have put hundreds of hours of work into this car (check the PF thread) so new owner will be getting a bargain!

That's an amazing car, wish I was looking into this sooner, the reason for finding this thread is and know some of you may remember, the green mk4 pick up with twin engines years back, what ever happened to it??? It just popped into my head and thought I'd have a look to see if it pops up again lol
hope some more info comes up on this very nice mid mounted s2...
Great work guys love to see something different to the norm, would love to keep my 1.6cvh and rwd it using a t9 box
