Reluctantly I have decided to sell my much loved and looked after Peugeot 106 GTI. It’s a 1998 MKII model on an R registration plate although the pictures show it with my private plate which is being removed.
The car has the usual 1600cc engine and of course has the much sought after half leather and suede interior which is in very good condition. The car has good paintwork and does not suffer from the usual bonnet and front bumper peppering by stones from the road.
The engine is Super chipped and I have a rolling road printout to prove its 137bhp. With this level of power the car performs very well indeed yet still is easy to drive and retains some great fuel consumption if driven sensibly.
The engine and head were rebuilt at around 98,000 miles and has now covered 102,000 miles. There are no rattles or any smoking just as you would expect from a rebuilt engine. The gearbox, suspension and brakes all work correctly. The car drives perfectly and has been very well looked after.
The following parts have also been replaced within the last 500 miles…
Brake pads
Gear linkage
Complete clutch
Nearside driveshaft
Driveshaft bearings
The exhaust has been replaced around 2,000 miles ago with a Janspeed back box and a new catalytic converter.
The car has been lowered 60mm at the front and by two notches at the back to level it up and make its stance more aggressive. The wheels are the rare GTI-6 ones with almost brand new tyres having a minimum tread depth of 7mm.
The car has a 50% rear tinted window and the rear side windows are 28% tinted, all perfectly legal and have been checked out to be so.
The tailgate has been de-badged and the rear wiper has also been removed. The rear lights are M/R 50/50 units.
The car is fitted with a front strut brace and has a red rocker cover. It also has a white dial kit to go with it but it is not fitted.
The car has an MOT until July 2009 and the road tax runs out at the end of February.
The car will be sold with its original “R” registration number as its current “TIL89” number is being transferred right at this moment. The transfer will be complete before the car is sold and no cost will be incurred by the new owner.
Price is £2,200
I am not interested in a part exchange, sorry.
