Default would my car be worth 1K ? (escort 2dr estate)

right , basically i am thinking of selling my 2dr estate as i am looking at getting a mk6 van or transit beaver-tail but i would only let it go for about £1000 due to the time money and effort i have put into it

am i dreaming or would it sell for this ? , any views on this welcome !

full spec:

H plate mk4 2dr estate
1.8d popular
1 prev owner from new
galaxy blue
shell done 101k / suspension 10k / engine approx 40k since rebuild (paperwork with engine)
mondeo TDI engine fitted , approx 100bhp now , goes surprising well and get 45-50 MPG
15" wolfrace wheels in A1 condition
all tyres toyo proxies with plenty tread left
lowered 60mm with koni adjustable's on the front
drilled and grooved rs turbo discs with rs turbo carriers and xr3i calipers , i found this set up gave more initial bite / standard rears
new rear shoes
new TCA's
new tie rod ends
aftermarket pop-up sunroof fitted
11 months MOT , went straight through with no advisories
bodywork ok , few little dinks and the arches are starting to bubble
interior clean and tidy
all locks on 1 key still !
cone filter fitted before anyone points it out , took it off to clean and forgot to put back on before pics were taken

if it wouldn't sell for what i want i would just keep it and do the arches and have some more fun with it

Probably worth £1k to the right person.

Only way to tell is to advertise it, if you dont get any intrest then the price is to high!

only mods are - turbo boost raised slightly and fuel pump regulator and "on boost" valve opened up , although i turned it all back down at the min to save fuel ! oh and the filter but that makes no difference really

i think it does look the part.

but in my un-experienced opinion id think 1k may be slightly optomistic unless you found the right person, although you probably arnt that far off with the price.

just an opinion.

if someones looking for a clean one u can pretty much name your price, if u got the time hang out for 1k

I reckon if you hold out your get it mate. I sold my mk4 van for £900 begining of the yeah but have bought it back since. Did you put the mondy tdi in it? If so what mounts did you use? what wiring was there as i'm thinking of tdi'ing mine but not if its too much hassle.Any info appreciated

yeah i fitted the engine

the problems i come across with the wiring is the PATS needs bypassing on the pump and the cold start valve needs a live feed , i got rid of the mondeo's PCM as its not needed - all other mk4 wires connected up

i used engine mounts from a N/A derv from a mk4

the exhaust downpipe is custom as is the blower motor surround (to clear the intercooler)

its a tight fit in the bay and i had to mix and match pullys and all sorts of cvh alternator brackets to clear the ARB and inner wing and also had to relote some brake lines and fuel line to clear the turbo and oil filter

i think maybe you'd be able to hit the 1k mark. its a nice looking motor and i bet its great fun. personally i think it would sell better with some more standard rims such as rst etc.
Good luck either way
