I bought the car like this recently off a friend but it’s not practical enough for what I want it for. Drives ok, though could do with tracking. Think brakes need bleeding as the feel isn’t great. Body is in decent condition but not mint, does have a few little dents, but nothing major. Interior is a little worn but ok.

Done a compression check and its down on all 4 cylinders where the previous dickhead owner heabily over filled it with oil.

I can offer this car with a spare 2.0 XE engine for £170 extra.

It starts ok and drives ok normally, but when you put your foot down it splutters a little and starts smoking. As I say, still drives ok normally.

Good points:

Car done 60k
Engine done approx. 88k.
Still 1.6 Sport on logbook
New timing belt kit and recent alternator
Lowered 45mm on uprated shocks and springs
Battery in boot
Nearly new front tyres, good rear tyres.


Bad points :
Speedo doesn’t work
Ticks over high (been told this is a sensor?)
Stupidly loud exhaust
Aforementioned splutter/smoke problem


Car is in East London/Essex way.

Could make a nice track car or similar.

Sorry, yes car is MOT'd till june 09 and the smoke is bluey.

this was a sound engine, i think just a piston ring swap would make this fine again, the previous owner put too much oil in so think its blown the oil rings so cheap repair for someone and car will be sweet again no doubt
