Possibly selling my S1 - DEPOSIT NOW TAKEN
After having owned my S1 for 12 years, it’s now possibly time for a change and I have therefore decided to put her up for sale to guage any interest. To say the car has been pampered is a gross understatement – in 12 years she’s only ever seen rain twice and has on average done 250 – 300 miles a year for many years. This can be confirmed by the MOT’s. I’ve also got plenty of paperwork for the car, although I refuse to pay ridiculous servicing costs so have had the car maintained privately. Please have a look at the pic’s (click the link at the bottom of my signature) – I can drone on here and write pages but the pic’s speak a thousand words and these will prove I haven’t run this car on a shoestring budget. Whatever the car needs – the car gets. There is no rust on this car – period. From October to April each year the car does not see daylight and is dry stored as I have never used her in winter – so she has not seen road salt in 12 years. She was MOT’d in May so there’s 9 months left and taxed until March 2008.
I cannot stress enough this is NOT an everyday car, and any new owner would be stupid if they intended to use the car in this way or track the car to death. If that’s what you want, I suggest you look elsewhere. However, if you want a clean S1 that you want to use at the weekend when the weather is nice and keep garaged – this is the car you want. Although the pic’s were taken last year the car looks exactly the same today – I’ve done nothing else to her other than change the oil and filter in March this year. There is also a Specialised Car Covers indoor cotton tailored cover which will be included in the sale.
Price: £5250 and not a penny less so don’t waste my time or yours even attempting to haggle. And no, I don’t want a part-ex. I don’t need to sell the car and haven’t got anything specific lined up, although I have an idea of what I would like next. If I don’t get what I want money wise, or get inundated with wannabe test pilots, timewasters and tyre kickers I’ll withdraw the car from sale as I have neither the time nor the patience for any of that. Any viewings will not take place at or anywhere near the registered address for obvious reasons, and it’s quite simple – if you show up with no money and no insurance certificate proving you are covered to drive you won’t get to even sit in the car, let alone get behind the steering wheel. Sorry if this sounds somewhat draconian or dictatorial but I’m going to weed out the timewasters at the first hurdle. I’m located near Heathrow – the car is not so please don’t expect to view the car an hour after we’ve spoken as it’s not possible.
I have a whole heap of spares – these are also available but are NOT for sale with the car at the advertised price. If you want them no problem but these will be an additional cost. If anyone wants the spares separately that’s also fine. These comprise:
Rebuilt S1 gearbox with LSD - £250
Full S1 archkit (needs painting but isn’t battered which is why I kept and stored it – goes complete and will NOT split) - £200
CarCoon winter storage system (I reckon it’s big enough to get a Cosworth in) - £200
Powerflex S1 polyurethane bush kit (still in packets, never fitted) - £100
Front anti rollbar with brackets which aren’t broken - £40
Both doors with glass and window motors (need painting but solid) - £50 each
Two headlights -£20 the pair
Two starter motors - £10 each
Inlet manifold - £40
Brand new brake fluid reservoir (never fitted) - £10
Replica S1 front grille (good copy) in black plastic – never fitted or painted - £40
Brand new Mk3 Escort battery tray – never fitted - £25
I have probably got some odds and sods that I’ve forgotton about over the years but no doubt they’ll come to light when I have a clear out.
If you are seriously interested and have money to spend please PM me and I’ll give you a number so we can have a chat. I won’t be talking via PM as that’s for timewasters, if you are seriously interested you’ll pick up the phone and we can have a chat. I also don’t answer withheld numbers – just so you know !

that is lovely, and more than a fair price IMO given the current demand and the condition of your car.
A few people have been asking for very clean S1's lately so hopefully they are genuin and get calling you.

From what I can see the price is wrong, it should be more !!! Ive looked at around ten latly and its hard to find a good one at a good price. I know where there is a £5500 car that has an earlt 2 bolt shell, me and Jacko went to see it.

Well, good luck with the sale, I know what I went through to get mine and even though Sticker Paul told me it was Concours I STILL didn't believe him until I got there due to people mis-selling them!
This is a clean one though, worth that all day
