Ford Escort RS Cosworth
Hi All,
I am selling my Ford Escort Cosworth and have NOT advertised it anywhere but here for the moment, i did advertise it here a short while ago but decided to keep it
I purchased this car from Manchester in March 05 and have spent a huge sum of money on getting it to how i wanted it, i wanted a quick, reliable and tastefully modified example and i believe i have achieved what i set out for, now it is time for me to move on and let someone else reap the benefits of this rather tasty car as everything on the car is nearly new !
Spec :
New Harvey Gibbs engine and turbo which has covered 4500 faultless miles, which consists of :-
Engine
New 200 block consisting of new everything.
New head ported and polished.
Baffled big winged sump.
Grey injectors
High flow fuel pump.
High flow oil pump.
WRC head gasket.
Isky valve springs.
Harveys Cams.
New T-34 Turbo to Harveys spec.
Air to Air injectors.
Mongoose exhaust
New air filter (induction)
Various Samco hoses
Anti lag (not used much, just a novelty for making people jump)
P8 Collins ECU mapped by Ahmed Bajoo producing 431 bhp and 400 ib/ft which is achieved at 26-27 psi.
The ECU also has a launch control facility which is currently not wired up and i wouldn't launch the car anyway.
I was told by Harvey when i collected the engine 'dont be scared to use it' which was more than good enough for me.
Transmission
Fully reconditioned gearbox 4000 miles ago
Alcon 6 paddle clutch (4000 miles approx)
Lightened flywheel
Suspension
Poly bushed all round
Koni adjustable suspension which is lower by 30 mm and sits very nicely.
Brakes
Tarox grooved and drilled front and rear discs
Interior
Full leather interior which is in superb condition throughout
Momo gearknob
Cosworth seat covers
Exterior
The car is finished in Pacifica blue which gets treated to a full wash, polish and wax whenever it ventures out of the garage, i use only quality products on the car in the shape of P21s car shampoo, followed by P21s polish then a coat of P21s Carnuba wax for the ultimate shine (yes i like to clean it).
Brand new carbon fibre splitter and hockey sticks.
Morette twin headlights (i have the originals)
18" Rondell alloys which i purchased brand new and the tyres are also like brand new.
Clear side repeaters and front indicators
Smoked rear lenses (i have the originals)
Security
Clifford Concept 500 alarm which can be a pain sometimes but does what it says on the tin with certificate.
Tracker monitor with certificate.
MOT until March 07
Tax until June 06.
ICE
It has a professinally installed system which i will give more details on request, not one for taking your gran out in !
Overall
The car is on a private plate which i will be taking off prior to selling, the car is a 1993 K reg and has covered 46,000 miles now, it is always garaged, i never leave it anywhere due to scumbags nowadays, it does have a few minor niggles which i will be totally honest about, it has a few stonechips on the bonnet and a few other marks here and there, nothing at all bad and the exhaust does rub slightly so that would need to be sorted out but of course, is a relatively simple exercise. The boost gauge in the car is not connected, due to me buying new gauges from Cossymad Chris and not getting round to fitting them just yet...
I have spent an absolute fortune on this Cosworth getting it to how it is, it is always fully serviced by my neighbour (ex brands mechanic) every 3000 miles, it has been run in properly and has been back to Ahmed Bajoo for the final set up where himself and Mark checked every sensor on the car, the fuelling and the boost, the report i got back was, 'thats one very nicely set up Cosworth' (as i would have expected).
The car comes out of the garage once or twice per week maximum, when it does come out, it is warmed up nicely and not driven on boost until full operating temperature is achieved and the car also gets driven off boost and warmed down properly when putting it away.
There is probably something i have missed out, so should you want to ask any questions, please feel free to PM me.
Reason for sale - Lack of use and business expansion.
I have attached just 1 picture as this should give you enough to go on, if you want anymore pictures, feel free to ask.
Thanks for looking
Richard

Another update...
I had taken a deposit on the car, but the chappie could not get insured due to the mods the car has, as i have said..
Saturday, waited in for someone, didnt turn up..
Sunday, waited in again, didnt turn up...
I was out in the car over the weekend and it was superb, however, i will sell the car still, but please check insurance first and dont waste my time.
Cheers
